Turkey has emerged to be hot business cake for British Investors as according to BCCT Chairman
BloombergHT – Mr. Chris Gaunt, the acting chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce of Turkey (BCCT) has shared his views on economic progress in Turkey and Turkey’s importance as an emerging market for regional and British investor. According to him, Turkey continuous improvement in GDP for last decade has bounded Turkey’s economic growth on strong pillars and economic fundamentals have shown positive signs.
During his press conference; he has expressed his views about British investor’s interest in Turkish markets during 2013. According to Gaunt, British companies are interested to make investments in medium as well as long term projects in Turkey. About 2600 British companies are currently operating in Turkey and Turkey has been ranked second after Germans to host such a big number of companies that are owned and operated by foreign investors.
British companies are inspired of Turkish business experience and their invaluable ways of dealing with Middle Eastern, Central Asian and North African countries that they wish to target through joint venture with Turkish companies. Moreover, Gaunt highlighted Turkey’s position as a business gateway for the region by saying that Turkey holds a vital position for potential investment to catch surrounding markets.
Keeping in context; the BCCT Chairman also added that Turkey and Britain has enjoyed extended business and investment relations. British companies were fascinated by Turkish growth prospective and premeditated location.
“Turkey has a tradition of dealing and investing around the world. Turkish investors are acquainted with business knowledge and information in Central Asia, North Africa and the Middle East , and British companies can way in to these areas through partnerships”, Gaunt remarked.
Turkey has treated Britain as one of the key export market. According to statistical details; in 2013 the reported trade volume was USD 14 billion and above between the two countries.
